My character is a 21 year old female. I think this is a suitable target age and gender as the main character in our thriller is a female. I think that a female audience member will feel more empathy for the character if she has similar characteristics to her. I think the target age for our audience is 16-21 as the main character is a teenage girl, and again they will sympathise and empathise more with the character if they have things in common with them. A 21 year old girl will be able to put herself in the position of the main character and will be more drawn into the film hoping for the best for the character.
Rose Deal is studying criminology at University. I think our introduction of our thriller sequence is tense and a mystery but in the rest of the plot, the film would have a crime aspect to find the person who buried her and to find the motives, that is why is think someone who is interested in criminology would be interested in our film.
Rose Deal has liked a the television series Pretty Little Liars and Crime Scene Investigation. I think these television shows are similar to our film in the way that they are set out to solve mysteries and you become intrigued to find out what happens over the series of mysteries being solved by the people involved. She has also liked the film The Lovely Bones, which is similar in a way where it involves the mystery and life of a young girl and you empathise with the main characters. The other films which she has liked are thrillers.
